First of all you might want to know what a Danmaku battle actually looks like
Note that both players would be using spell-cards in a real danmaku battle, the upper player is using spell cards while the lower player is not.
~~~~~~~~~
Spell-cards
In each battle your character will choose 3 spell-cards. Each spell-card consists of a name, a 2 digit number, a description and a spell. Since spell cards are self contained, even Pegasi and Earth Ponies may use them.
The name can be anything from a call-out to a phrase.
The number is just an index, note that you may not have 2 spell-cards with the same number.
The deception is a paragraph of text written on the card, it can be anything, but usually has something to do with the spell held in the card.
The spell itself is what the spell IS, such as control of shadows or creating conjuring exploding fireballs. Your spell-cards should follow a theme, such as manipulation of darkness.
As you can see in the video, your spell-cards are allowed to be overpowered, but that's ok because your opponent will be equally overpowered.
Before you may use a spell card, post it in your characters profile and PM me (LadyChao) for approval.
Danmaku Battles
This is where the spell-cards come into play.
Each player chooses 3 spell-cards, you only have to reveal what these spell-cards are when you use them.
Each time you post, activate a spell card and describe it's effect. It is not required to explain you dodging your opponent as you'll be doing a lot of that.
Assuming an external event does not interrupt the battle, the first player to be 'Hit' by their opponents magic is defeated. (A player will not be able to continue to use spell-cards after being 'hit' until they have rested and depending on the severity of the 'hit' they may even be knocked unconscious)
Using Spell Cards outside of battle
Given the chance circumstance a character is faced with a deadly monster, they still have use of their spell cards. In fact, they can use spell cards when ever they want. However, while there are no real laws in Ponyoko, going around using spell-cards on those who can't defend themselves from them isn't considered acceptable behavior and will usually result in a visit from the Hakurei Shrine Maiden.
